The Story of 8dori
小さな羽ばたきでも、空気は確かに揺れる。
Even the smallest wings can stir the air.
「8dori（ハチドリ）」という名前には、いくつかの意味を重ねています。
末広がりの「8」。
そして、小さな身体で空を飛び続けるハチドリの姿。
The name “8dori” carries layered meanings.
The number eight, a symbol of expansion and good fortune.
And the hummingbird, a small yet tireless presence in motion.
大きなことはできなくても、いま目の前にある時間を、丁寧にすくいとること。
子どもを育てながら、新しい場所で暮らしながら、自分の仕事を続けていくこと。
その姿を、どこか重ねています。
I may not be able to do something grand,but I believe in gently holding the moments in front of me.
Raising children, building a life in a new place, and continuing my work—
I see something of myself in that quiet persistence.
写真もまた、同じだと思っています。
ささやかな瞬間の中にある、確かなもの。
誰かの記憶の中で、そっと支えになるような1枚を。
Photography, to me, is much the same.
Something certain, held within small moments.
Images that quietly stay with you, like something to lean on.
そんな想いを込めて、この名前をつけました。
That is the thought behind this name.
What I Wish to Build Here
ここでは、地域に根ざした、ささやかな民家写真館を営んでいきたいと考えています。
デジタルが当たり前になった今だからこそ
手に触れられる写真の価値を、あらためて届けていくこと。
そしてときには
写真だけでなく、呼吸や身体の感覚にも意識を向ける時間を。
記録ではなく
体験として残るものを大切にしたいと思っています。
Here, I hope to build a small, community-rooted studio.
In a digital age, I want to rediscover the value of photographs you can physically hold.
And at times,
to create space not only for images,
but for breath and bodily awareness.
Not just records,
but experiences that stay within you.
